Gray or Black 100% Cotton Shirt

The Seal of the Confederacy Stained-glass Window was installed in 1905. Money raised from the Ladies Memorial Associations of New Orleans and from local veteran associations paid for the window.

The Seal includes an equestrian portrait of George Washington (a Son of Virginia), surrounded by a wreath composed of the principal agricultural products of the Confederacy including cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, wheat, and rice. Embossed around the edge, “The Confederate States of America: 22 February, 1862” and the motto Deo Vindice, or “God will vindicate.”

Stained-glass artist, William Reith was a native of Germany who studied stained glass at the Offenbach Technical School in Baden-Baden. He emigrated to the United States in 1867. After working for several years for stained glass manufacturing firms in Philadelphia, Reith established his own firm on North Seventh Street in Stroudsburg in 1887. His business prospered to such an extent that he was able to move to Germantown, then a Philadelphia neighborhood of wealth and status. From there he serviced mostly in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, although he received commissions from throughout the country.
