Product Description

Louisiana Belt Plate-

The Pelican feeding its young has been on the State Seal of Louisiana since the State was admitted to the Union in 1812. During the Civil War, the Confederate seal had the pelican’s head turned to the left, with a nest full of young.

The Louisiana Pelican Buckle is a latest item carried by gift shop. This buckle is made just as the original buckles were being made before the fall of New Orleans. This buckle is made by the stamping process used in the original plates unlike the cast brass that are being offered.

The pelican, stars and wreath design of the brass belt plate is very crisp and clear. The plate is lead filled and has the belt hooks on the back attached in the same manner as the original New Orleans Louisiana Waist Belt Plates. This attention to detail and historic accuracy makes these plates a great addition to your impression or Civil War belt plate collection.
